I would not allow his lies to break me. I would find happiness, and I would find it myself.

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐,5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (One open door scene)

Wow, what a truly unique story is The Forest Where The Phoenix Sleeps. On the back of the book there is a small piece of text about the author and it says: Brooke writes fairy tales and nightmares filled with tenderness and terror.

I couldn’t describe this story better. I literally had a (minor) nightmare about it. It’s such a unique story, the world building is something unlike I’ve ever read before. As is the magic system.

The FMC suffers from depression and you truly feel her pain, but also how she grows through the story. I loved her growth so much.

There were many likeable characters, but also some very unlikable, as was intended. The chemistry between the different characters was great. There isn’t a lot of spice, just one open door scene, which was hot!

The only thing preventing it from being a 5 star read was that sometimes I felt like the big things were a bit rushed, and I missed something in the ending. But since this is part one in the series that might come in a next book? Which I’ll be sure to read!

A perfect book for the darker season and if you love the slightly darker fairytales!

🐦‍🔥 Despite your constant self-deprecation, you possess kindness and compassion and softness in a world that would have you dead. That’s truly magical.
