Jeanie Ellis had never killed a man before, but tonight might be the night.
Do you love Gilmore Girls and everything from the Hallmark Channel? Then you’ve got to read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore! This is the first book in the Dram Harbor series.
Review The Pumpkin Spice Cafe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (It starts of 🫑, but in the last few chapters there are some deliciously steamy scenes)
The story is set in the idyllic town called Dream Harbor, where Jeanie goes to, to take over the Pumpkin Spice Cafe from her aunt. She takes the chance to start over, to reinvent herself.
Logan is a local farmer with a troubled past. The whole town looks after him. Oh and he has silkies! 🤩 a very big plus for a fellow silkie caretaker.
When Jeanie and Logan meet, fireworks go off. But because of their troubles they fight the attraction, until they can’t.
The story is just so lovely, perfect for this time of year. The setting is cozy and idyllic and the characters are very lovable. Seriously, I want to be a Dreamer!
It doesn’t have a lot of spice in it, but at the end… woow those scenes are hot! 🥵
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
🎃 Jeanie Ellis had never killed a man before, but tonight might be the night.
🎃 You know I’m a cool grandma. One-night stands, friends with benefits, picking girls up at the bar. Nothing shocks me.
🎃 He was greeted by the only ladies he ever understood as soon as he stepped outside. His little flock of silkie chickens were his pride and joy.
🎃 It was more that I was climbing him like a tree and the tree grew legs and started walking
🎃 The fact that her brave, strong aunt felt the same way made Jeanie think that maybe no one had things really figured out. And maybe that was okay.
Blurb of The Pumpkin Spice Cafe
When Jeanie’s aunt gifts her the beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town of Dream Harbor, Jeanie jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from her very dull desk job.
Logan is a local farmer who avoids Dream Harbor’s gossip at all costs. But Jeanie’s arrival disrupts Logan’s routine and he wants nothing to do with the irritatingly upbeat new girl, except that he finds himself inexplicably drawn to her.
Will Jeanie’s happy-go-lucky attitude win over the grumpy-but-gorgeous Logan, or has this city girl found the one person in town who won’t fall for her charm, or her pumpkin spice lattes… (Source: Bol.com)
